About the Project

Who We Are

We’re residents and landowners living along the dirt roads north on Llano Road, near Questa, NM — an area sometimes called Mountain Valley Acres or Pinabete.

Some of us live here year-round, others seasonally. But we all share the same roads — and the same challenges.

This project was started by a few neighbors who care deeply about the safety and accessibility of this place. The hope is to involve many more of you — in whatever way makes sense for you.

Why Now?

  • The roads are rapidly deteriorating.
  • There’s no county or village support currently in place.
  • Previous informal repairs have not held up long-term.
  • We have the people, tools, and willpower to make change — but we need coordination and shared effort.

What This Is Not

This is not a homeowners association. There will be:

  • No covenants
  • No rules about your land or property
  • No mandatory dues
  • This is a voluntary project to work on shared roads — nothing more.

Why “Pinabete Roads”?

“Pinabete” refers to the piñon-covered foothills we call home.

“Roads” means all Pinabete roads, but the common roads will get more attention.
