Here’s a plan that came in this morning from Paul:
Llano Road Improvements steps forward:
1. Get recommendations from local road builders on what needs to be done:
1. Get recommendations from local road builders on what needs to be done:
A) based on stages of work based on minimal budget
i.e. what can we get for $5000 for 1st step
B) contact the county Road Department for any requirements that are needed to keep the road compliant with county specificationsC) Check the county Road Department on how to get the county to maintain Llano Rd.
2. Contact the local commissioner to support getting the county to maintain Llano Rd.
A) numbers make a difference; get as many Pinabete land owners to sign a petition requesting county to maintain Llano Rd
1. create a mail list of property owners
2. create petition mailer with return
3. mail and follow up for signatures
B) bring petition signed by land owners requesting county road maintenance to county Commissioner and Road Department
What do you think? Do you want to take any of this on personally?
Wesly Chapman at the bottom of the road offers his expertise:
I, being a resident on llano rd, would love to see the road fixed. I have many years experience running heavy equipment and will donate my “free time” (mostly weekends) operating equipment and fixing the road if we can get material and equipment
Here’s a different concern that came in anonymously through the website:
I don’t know if this area needs to be gentrified anymore. I love living here but I was pushed out of renting in Taos after years from the crazy rental prices. yeah it can be rough on my vehicles getting around but the last thing we need for this neighborhood is for it to be so accessible that out of towners gobble up all the properties from afar and all the hardworking folks of Questa get priced out of here too.
I don’t think that fixing the bottom half mile is going to lead to gentrification, but I’m putting everybody’s thoughts out there for your comments.
I’ll post all this on the website later. I need to go hunt and gather.
Also, I’m going to talk to Bobby Ortega at the Ortega Gravel Pit, to see if he can give us a deal, and if Entact can really deliver material for free…
Thanks to all,
Dan
