Hi Dan!
I wanted to say hello, introduce myself, and make a request.
S and I live on the last road on the lower Llano section called Refugio Rd.
It’s not marked, but it’s the very last road that will allow you to go up the mountain.
S and B are our neighbors, and we are further up the road from them.

All of which to say, our road has deteriorated to the point where it’s an issue with safety. I’m not sure we’ll have access to our house when there’s another storm.
We need lots of fill and culvert clearing and proper road grading to make the road safe and usable again.
I would like to discuss hiring you and your crew to fix our road, and I’d love to have coffee and discuss this with you and our neighbors. Text if that’s easier, email works for us.
Many many thanks, P

Hi P & S,

(I decided to forward this to everybody on the list, in hopes of getting a few more last minute $$ donations.)

Sorry – There’s no “crew,” or if there is one, if you live or own property up here, you’re on the crew, too.

Just neighbors trying to get the road fixed. There’s no one to hire. Everybody here has other jobs.

We’re mostly focused on the bottom half mile because that’s the part everybody has to drive.

I know the roads up at the very top are terrible. Any road that goes straight up the mountain is only going to get worse in time.

Your best chance is to divert water off the road at every chance. That’s a big part of our plan down below.

Best of luck to you, and to us, because this week is going to happen, not because of any one skilled person, but the determined effort to FIX THE ROAD by everyone.

If you want to help with the bottom one half mile of the road, please donate now. Each truckload costs about $200.

We’d love to buy another 10 loads besides the 13 that we’re getting now. This will determine the thickness of the road. More better…

On Thursday and Friday, delivery of material begins. The amount of material we get will determine how good a job we can do.

$200 is one more load of road material. Help if you can. Donate a load or two, if you can.

Entact and Granite are generously helping us with some hauling and grading, but they’re NOT giving us ANY road material. We have to buy it.

PINABETE.US is the website where you can find more info, and a link to the gofundme page, or, better yet, get me a check or cash before Friday.

P and S, I’m sending this email out to our whole email list, not just you, because half way through, I realized I was talking to everybody.

Thanks to everyone involved!

Dan
