Happy Harvest Moon!
We’re doing what we can with what we can get…
What we are getting this Thursday is 150 yds of Red River road washout material thanks to a special permit from the US Forest Service, delivered by Entact for free.
Thanks to Joe for talking them into it. Joe and Jaysen have marked some prime trouble spots on Llano Road, both above and below the Llano acequia.
All of that will cost us little or no $$. We will, however, have to pay to get it smoothed out if no local equipment is operational.
Andamo Sanchez is available with a grader to help move it around. He ain’t free…
Tomorrow morning (Tuesday), Joe and I will meet with Entact to work out the details of the operation on this Thursday, the 9th.
This is NOT the big fix we all dream of, but a stop-gap measure to deal with some major problem areas on the road.
Our budget is very low – we still have around $5,000. If you can give more, now would be the time to donate… Some prices below for material from Ortega’s Gravel and MTC.
Entact has offered to help us this Thursday, so look for big trucks on that day. We hope to keep the ball rolling and do whatever we can before Winter sets in. There will be more workdays coming soon…
Note: Some of this free material will be going to the upper Llano Road, but we’ll be spending the real money for material below the Llano ditch.
Here are some numbers (plus tax):
Ortega’s Gravel (does NOT include delivery) (Bobby has no truck at the moment)
Base Coarse: $12/yard (he’s low on base coarse)
Pit Run: $7/yd
MTC (price includes delivery by a belly-dump truck – nice for spreading it it out over a long area) (15yds per load)
Natural Base Coarse: $13.92/ton (similar to a yard) ($208.80 per truckload, delivered)
Pit Run: $10.32/ton ($154.80 per truckload, delivered)
So, ponder all that.
I’ll post this on the website. If this really happens, I’ll take some pictures and post them to the website.
Thanks,
Dan
